About IDES:
Caterpillar’s Integrated Drivetrain Energy Solutions Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.

Job Summary:
Solve challenging engineering problems involving electrified products, systems, and components using advanced engineering analysis, technical expertise, and cross-functional execution. Support battery electric machine development, high-voltage integration, battery technologies, and product development activities for the Tucson team.
Collaborate with customers, product groups, and leadership to define and execute electrification projects that meet business and customer objectives
Lead development and integration activities for battery, charging, high-voltage, and electric drive systems across machine platforms
Accountable for delivering timely, high-quality engineering solutions, technical recommendations, and project execution support for new product introduction and validation activities
Partner with design, manufacturing, supply chain, software, controls, and test teams to successfully develop and deploy electrified products
Support technical issue resolution, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives across development and production programs
Stay current on emerging electrification technologies and apply best practices to improve product performance, reliability, and customer value
What You Will Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Analytical Thinking: Extensive experience and knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Effective Communications: Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Problem Solving: Extensive experience and knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Technical Excellence: Working knowledge of electrification technologies and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges involving battery electric machines, energy storage systems, high-voltage integration, power electronics, charging systems, and vehicle electrification.

This position is located in Tucson, AZ and requires 5-day on-site availability

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
