Surgical Tech FT Days

Anyone traveling more than 60 miles one way to Holy Cross is eligible for a travel stipend of $60 per day. Job Summary Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures." Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as"appropriate"sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies." Hands required/requested instruments and supplies to"surgeon"during surgery."" Assists"with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients." Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks"instruments counts"throughout procedures." Places"equipment and supplies in the operating"or labor & delivery"rooms"and arranges instruments according to preference cards.""Cleans"and checks"equipment"area." Hands"instruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors, cuts sutures, and performs other technical tasks as directed by surgeon during operation.""Orders, stocks, and"maintains"supplies for the"OR and"C-section suites." Organizes"in"preparation for end of case and"assists"in"clean"up and turnover of rooms.""Disposes"of all sharps, biohazardous waste items appropriately.""Handles"specimens properly." Reports"observations of changes in"patient's"conditions and level of consciousness to an RN or LPN"in a timely manner." Minimum Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of Surgical Technologists course from an accredited facility." Experience: Must be able to work variable shifts,"holidays"and/or weekends."" Must be able to take call rotation when required. Must be able to perform all duties, including lifting and transferring, using proper body mechanics." Licensure/Certifications: BLS Preferred Requirements Experience: Knowledge"of hospital environment desired."
