Job title: Early Childhood Home Visitor

Home Visitors provide family development/social services to enrolled children ages birth to three and their families participating in the Early Head Start and Head Start Childcare Partnership project.

In this role you will:

  1. Conduct weekly 90-minute home visits with each family.
  2. Create and maintain respectful partnerships with families. Drive to family's home and deliver health, educational, nutritional and child growth and development information to parents via weekly meetings.
  3. Coordinate with parents to ensure that prenatal, well-child exams, immunizations, health screenings, and nutrition assessments are complete and necessarily follow up occurs.
  4. Complete family partnership agreements, developmental screenings, and all other required assessments with families in a timely manner.
  5. Assist and support families in locating resources and scheduling appointments with community resources that best meets their needs.
  6. Provide support in parent and child activities that encourage developmentally appropriate activities for the changing needs of infants and toddlers.

What it takes:

  1. AA / bachelor’s degree - Family Development, Social Services, Human Services, Early Childhood Education, Education, Interdisciplinary Studies – emphasis Early Childhood Education/Family Studies, Family Studies – emphasis Early Childhood Development or Family Development, Psychology
  2. AND/OR Related degree with at least 18 credit hours from an accredited university designating that the coursework meets or exceeds Early Childhood/Family Development/Social Work requirement.
  3. Minimum one (1) year direct experience working with infants and toddlers and their families.
  4. Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  5. CPR/First Aid certification (training for certification can be provided once hired)
  6. Food handlers card certification
  7. Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card – OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Licenses & Certifications Required

  1. CPR and First Aid Cert
  2. DCS-1083C Form
  3. Food Handler's Card
  4. Fingerprint Card Level 1
  5. DES Criminal Affidavit

Travel Required : Yes - Day travel throughout Maricopa County
