The Paint Technician at Airside MRO will be responsible for preparing, masking, painting, and finishing aircraft components in accordance with FAA regulations, customer specifications, and company standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, experience with aerospace-grade coatings and surface preparation, and a commitment to safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have painting experience in a regulated aerospace, MRO, or industrial environment.
Your role will take you to new heights, as you will be tasked with these essential job responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces of aircraft components by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primers as required.
- Mix, match, and apply paints, primers, and finish in accordance with technical specifications and work instructions.
- Ensure all painting processes meet FAA, OEM, and customer requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of paint booth, tools, and equipment.
- Inspect painted surfaces for quality, finish, and compliance; rework as needed.
- Follow safety guidelines, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Complete required documentation and records in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet turnaround time (TAT) and delivery goals.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and quality in painting processes.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in aerospace, automotive, or industrial painting (aerospace/MRO experience strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of FAA Part 145 requirements or ability to learn quickly
- Familiarity with technical drawings, work instructions, and component maintenance manuals (CMMs)
- Ability to mix and apply coatings to precise specifications
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Basic inspection skills and willingness to learn new technical processes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift and pull objects weighing 20–30 pounds
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Adobe Acrobat a plus

FAA/DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
This position is subject to the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) drug and alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 40 and Part 120. As part of our compliance with these regulations, candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test prior to starting work.
Employees in safety-sensitive positions may also be subject to random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing as required by law.
Participation in and adherence to our DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing program is a condition of employment.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
