Aptitude with set-up, repair and ongoing maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment An Equipment Maintenance Technician must possess and be able to apply electrical and mechanical knowledge, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures in our R&D and manufacturing environment. Essential Job Functions The Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Technician will be responsible for executing tasks defined by management.
Such tasks may include:
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
Fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments
Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines
Ensure optimal functioning of processes and equipment
Perform new machine installations as required
Perform and document regular equipment maintenance Education: Bachelor or Associate degree in engineering or other science/technology field is desired. High school diploma with relevant experience may be considered. Experience: At least 5 years of experience and proven ability in safely performing electrical and mechanical repairs and/or installations of various types of equipment and machinery is required. Familiarity with vacuum pumps and high temperature furnaces and hot presses for ceramic processing is highly desired. Knowledge: Well-balanced technical background is desired. Detailed knowledge of a wide variety of equipment and machining processes is desired. Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to safely operate high temperature equipment. Some heavy lifting required. Special Requirements: US citizenship is required.
