Litigation Attorney – Medical Malpractice (3-7 years exp.)
Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Sonja Cotton & Associates is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-respected law firm seeking a Litigation Attorney with 3–7 years of experience in medical malpractice defense . This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated associate to gain hands-on litigation experience and meaningful mentorship from seasoned trial attorneys.

Qualifications:

• 3–7 years of legal experience with a focus on medical malpractice or insurance defense is ideal. (However, the firm is open to considering less-experienced candidates who demonstrate strong potential and commitment to the field.)
• Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and proactively with clients , keeping them informed and engaged throughout the litigation process.
• Skilled in analyzing medical records and evidence to identify case strengths and build effective defense strategies.
• Proficient in managing discovery and disclosure , including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions.
• Experience in case strategy development , depositions , working with expert witnesses , and trial preparation .
• Strong research and writing skills, with experience preparing motions at all phases of litigation, including post-trial motions .
• Genuine desire to gain hands-on experience in client interviews, hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills , with an openness to feedback and continuous improvement.
• Creative thinker and problem solver with the confidence to contribute ideas to a collaborative litigation team.
• A passion for high-quality legal representation and a strong sense of client advocacy .
