ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Data Auditing Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of data across inventory management, sales, production, and regulatory reporting systems within the cannabis industry. This position requires meticulous attention to detail to monitor, verify, and enhance data accuracy, ensuring all records align with state and federal cannabis regulations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this individual will help maintain compliance standards, streamline reporting processes, and provide valuable insights to support business operations and decision-making.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Data Auditing Specialist:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize data operations and improve system performance across all departments.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory, sales, production, and regulatory reporting systems to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies, working proactively with relevant teams to maintain accurate reporting and operational efficiency.
- Communicate audit findings to management and collaborate on necessary adjustments to improve data accuracy and system reliability.
- Maintain databases with precision, ensuring all records are up-to-date, error-free, and compliant with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor and uphold departmental policies, placing a strong emphasis on data integrity, accuracy, and adherence to compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including compliance, inventory, finance, and sales to ensure seamless data integration and reporting.
- Support data analysis initiatives, assisting in the preparation of reports that provide valuable insights for business decision-making.
- Ensure raw data is consistently accurate, reliable, and formatted correctly for seamless processing and compliance reporting.
- Assist with system enhancements, recommending and testing improvements to data tracking and auditing processes.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices related to data auditing and management.
- Train relevant staff members on data management best practices to prevent common errors and improve overall data accuracy.
- Handle confidential data with the highest level of security and discretion.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in cannabis processing, post-production workflows, and wholesale operations.
- Understanding of industry-specific terminology and commercial cannabis production techniques or a willingness to acquire this knowledge.
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving, and high-pressure environment.
- Strong technical proficiency, including experience with data analysis, spreadsheets, and database management.
- Investigative mindset with strong analytical skills to assess, interpret, and validate large datasets.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accuracy and data integrity.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and execute tasks with consistency and precision.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
- Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with relevant tools and technologies, including Spreadsheets, JavaScript, Python, SQL, and basic IT troubleshooting.
- Regulatory Compliance Awareness - Understanding of state and federal cannabis regulations related to data tracking, reporting, and compliance audits.
- Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking - Ability to identify discrepancies, troubleshoot data issues, and implement solutions to improve data accuracy and system performance.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in data auditing, compliance, or a related field; experience within the cannabis, pharmaceutical, or regulated industry preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and be able to obtain a Facility Agent (FA) badge.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Physical Requirements :
This role is primarily desk-based but includes certain physical requirements to perform essential duties effectively. This position involves prolonged periods of sitting, frequent computer use, and sustained attention to detailed data on screens or printed documents, necessitating strong visual acuity and manual dexterity for typing and mouse control.
