SBA CREDIT OFFICER

• Starting at $98,600 annually

ROLE IMPACT

This role provides senior-level credit oversight for Small Business Administration (SBA) lending activity, ensuring sound credit decisions, regulatory compliance, and portfolio quality. The position partners closely with credit leadership, underwriting, servicing, and special assets to support loan approvals, servicing, and liquidation activities. Success is measured by credit quality, adherence to SBA requirements, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

• Key Responsibilities

• Review and provide oversight for new SBA loan requests, credit presentations, and approval recommendations.

• Partner with credit leadership and commercial teams to guide loans through approval, documentation, and closing.

• Evaluate loan structures, eligibility, and terms to ensure alignment with SBA program requirements and internal credit policy.

• Conduct post-closing and desk reviews to confirm compliance with underwriting standards and SBA operating procedures.

• Support SBA servicing, portfolio management, and special assets activities, including annual reviews, ticklers, collections support, and liquidation reporting.

• Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.

• Five years of experience in SBA underwriting, credit analysis, or portfolio management.

• Advanced knowledge of SBA 7(a) and 504 loan programs, financial statement analysis, and tax return review.

• Core Tools & Systems

• SBA SOPs and servicing/liquidation guidelines

• Commercial loan credit policies and procedures

• Core banking or loan processing systems

• Microsoft Office, including Excel

Preferred Skills

• Prior individual credit approval authority.

• Experience mentoring or providing guidance to underwriting or credit staff.

• Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
