Teacher’s Assistant – Wirtzie’s Child Development Program

Location: Surprise, AZ

Pay Rate: $15.68/hr | Hourly, Non-Exempt

Schedule: 12:30 pm–6:00 pm, Monday through Friday (Infant Room)

About the Role:
We’re looking for a dependable and caring team member to support meal service and classroom assistance within our child development program. Responsibilities include delivering meals to the correct classrooms, collecting soiled dishes and utensils, and returning them to the Program Meals kitchen. You will also keep Wirtzie’s kitchen workstation clean and sanitized. This role supports enriching the lives of children ages 0 to 5 by covering co-workers’ meal breaks in the classrooms and helping to meet ratio requirements.

What We’re Looking For:
DUE TO CONTRACT REGULATIONS, 1 YEAR CURRENT OR RECENT EXPERIENCE IN EARLY CHILD CARE & EDUCATION IS REQUIRED.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent; candidates currently working toward completion are also encouraged to apply.
• 1 year of current or recent experience in early care and education or related life experience such as volunteering, nannying, or weekend nursery work.
• Ability to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Peoria/Sun City/Surprise, AZ area prior to start (no relocation assistance).
• Must obtain or possess the following certifications (Benevilla assists with costs): Fingerprint Clearance Card, CPR Certification, Negative TB/Chest X-Ray, Article 9 Certification, Food Handler’s Certification
• Flexible and willing to assist in both kitchen duties and classroom support as needed.
