DataTek, a leader in the technology solutions sector, is excited to announce a vacancy for a motivated and experienced IT Level 2 Technician - Systems Administrator. This challenging role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to maintaining high standards of IT operations and support. As a vital member of our IT department, you will play a key role in the streamlined operation of our systems within the business framework in alignment with business strategies and objectives.
This is a Full-Time position located at our headquarters and is not eligible for remote work. Candidates will be required to fulfill their duties on-site, contributing to our robust, secure, and dynamic IT infrastructure. The chosen candidate will engage in multiple facets of IT management including troubleshooting, systems administration, and project delivery, all while providing steadfast support and solutions that enhance our operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor day-to-day operations of onsite servers, networking devices, and software applications to ensure a stable and efficient IT environment.
- Implement and manage system back-up procedures and data recovery systems to minimize disruption from unforeseen incidents.
- Engage in regular assessment, installation, and updating of new software and hardware, maintaining the forefront of technological progression in our operations.
- Maintain security of all systems, applying the latest security measures and updates to guard against threats and breaches.
- Provide support and training to users on new systems and applications, fostering a tech-savvy environment across departments.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency of operations.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights, ensuring compliance with data security regulations and internal policies.
- Lead and complete IT projects including system upgrades, migrations, and installations in aligned with strategic business objectives.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts, as well as troubleshooting logs and repair records.
- Collaborate with vendors and external support resources to ensure that the company IT infrastructure meets the required standards and dynamics.
- Assess and advocate for improved technologies and tools that can enhance the productivity and performance of the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a systems administrator role or similar.
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
- A track record of developing and implementing IT infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a timely manner.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities to address complex technical issues.
- Proficient with Microsoft.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex IT concepts to non-technical team members.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity trends and best practices to protect network integrity and data privacy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage a challenging workload.
