POSITION SUMMARY:
The Hualapai Indian Tribe is currently seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to fill the role of IT Technician 1 for the Tribal Government. As an entry-level position, the IT Technician 1 will be responsible for providing technical assistance to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with routine IT tasks. We currently support over 30 departments, spread over more than 20 buildings, so it is essential that the candidate have strong time management skills, the ability to assign priorities to tasks, and the interpersonal skills to serve and support all of our users. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for technology and a desire to kick start their career in IT support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Frontline Technical Support:
- Respond promptly to end-user requests, providing assistance and issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and software problems on desktops, laptops, and other devices.
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
- Device Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
- Ensure that IT equipment is properly set up and operational for end-users.
- Moving, adding, and making changes to computers, telephones, and other equipment.
- Service Desk Management:
- Monitor and manage helpdesk tickets, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
- Communicate effectively with end-users, providing updates on the status of their service requests.
- User Account Management:
- Assist in the creation, modification, and termination of user accounts.
- Handle password resets and access-related inquiries from end-users.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with higher-tier support technicians to escalate and resolve more complex issues.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Documentation:
- Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for common issues.

- Routine Maintenance:
- Assist in routine maintenance tasks on IT equipment.
- Perform software updates and patches as directed.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- We are a small and close knit team who wear a lot of hats. We are often called on to help with a multitude of issues that sometimes range well outside of the lines of traditional IT work. Be flexible and ready help where you are needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 to 3 years related experience
- Knowledge of the following systems is required: Experience with computer technology, operating systems, computer repair, common software, and system administrative tools.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
- Communicate effectively and with respect to co-workers and superiors.
- The ability to work under pressure, accurately meet deadlines, and present a professional demeanor.
- Proven ability to work independently and on a team, multi-task, and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines simultaneously is required.
- Must have a current driver’s license and be eligible for the tribe’s insurance.
- This position will often require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, crawling, climbing ladders, working in small enclosed spaces (attics/under flooring/closets/etc.), working outdoors, sometimes in uncomfortable temperatures (both cold and heat).
- Ability to lift 50 pounds. In addition, you will be required to perform the loading, unloading, and moving of equipment regularly. You must be able to meet these physical demands.
- Must have and maintain a clean record, with no convictions of felonies, or misdemeanors within three years prior to application, or crimes against persons and domestic violence
- Pass a complete background investigation that meets the standards set in Arizona Administrative Code Title 13, Public Safety Chapter 4. APOST R-13-4-106
- Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test result prior to appointment. In addition, this position is a drug-testing designated position, subject to random testing for illegal drug use.
