Technical Writer

Akkodis is seeking a Technical Writer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate is responsible for creating and maintaining high‑quality technical documentation for developers and stakeholders .

Rate Range: $37/hour to $47/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Technical Writer job responsibilities include:

• Create, maintain, and enhance technical documentation such as architecture overviews, API/integration guides, operational runbooks, and user‑facing content.

• Translate complex technical concepts, designs, and workflows into clear, accurate, and easy‑to‑consume documentation for developers, users, and stakeholders.

• Collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams to document system designs, ADRs, technical decisions, and cloud‑native workflows.

• Review, edit, and ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance across documentation produced by engineering and product teams.

• Manage documentation repositories, version control, and publishing standards using tools like Markdown, GitHub, and Confluence.

• Maintain documentation governance by ensuring accuracy, adherence to standards, and alignment with compliance, security, and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

• 3–6 years of experience in technical writing, systems analysis, or a related technical documentation role.

• Strong ability to read and understand code, architecture diagrams, and ADRs, with hands‑on experience using documentation tools such as Markdown, GitHub, and Confluence.

• Proven experience producing and maintaining high‑quality technical documentation while collaborating closely with engineering and architecture teams to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $47.00 per hour
