Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Retail Supervisor to oversee daily pharmacy operations within a hospital-based setting in Arizona. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, staff development, and high-quality patient service.

Local candidates are strongly preferred due to the possibility of full-time conversion.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution

• PharmD preferred; PGY1 residency preferred

• Minimum three (3) years of pharmacist experience

• At least two (2) years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred

• Supervisory experience overseeing pharmacy technicians

• Current, active, and unrestricted Pharmacist license (Arizona license preferred)

• BLS certification within 90 days of hire

• No disciplinary history

• Must successfully pass background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) years of professional experience with at least two (2) years in a management role

• Licensed to administer immunizations, vaccines, and emergency medications

• Strong leadership and operational management background

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily administrative and retail pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards

• Develop and monitor operational and financial performance metrics

• Implement and evaluate departmental policies and procedures

• Lead continuous process improvement initiatives

• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy staff to promote professional growth and performance excellence

• Oversee pharmacy information and dispensing systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy

• Manage purchasing and inventory control to maintain cost-effective and timely pharmaceutical availability

• Prepare monthly operational reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement

• Participate in hospital quality assurance initiatives, staff training, and continuing education programs
