Marketing and Business Development Associate

We are seeking a Business Development Representative to join our Phoenix, Arizona office team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the J.S. Held team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional Business Development Representatives such as assisting practice leads in qualifying marketing and business development generated leads to ensure the growth of the J.S. Held pipeline. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of assisting with all aspects of the sale cycle but to coordinate with internal and external parties to achieve revenue growth and retention goals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage relationships leads (existing and new relationships) using defined methodologies (phone, e-mail, video) and guidelines to qualify relationships for opportunities.
- Arrange business meetings with key relationships.
- Identify opportunities for practitioners to develop new relationships with key targets.
- Work with corporate marketing to develop marketing and proposal materials that highlight Corporate Finance service offerings and drive the J.S. Held brand.
- Conduct research to identify new relationships and targets.
- Work with practice leads to develop the Top 25 targets/relationships in the U.S. and assign responsibilities for targeting.
- Participate in the preparation of responses to Corporate Finance opportunities.
- Research and gather information on prospective opportunities and accounts to identify key relationships and appropriate contacts.
- Track all opportunities in backlog/
- Assist account leads with account strategy development by understanding account/client revenue history and maintaining institutional knowledge to build out account plans and relationship maps.
- Document all activities and interactions in CRM.
- Organize, facilitate, and coordinate business development lunches, dinners, conference attendance (including golf tournaments) and social gatherings with targeted relationships.
- Adhere to Account Management principles and guidelines as defined by management, including the number (and type) of client relationships, CRM documentation, and feedback loops to internal teams.
- Be comfortable making dozens of calls per day, working with BD partners, and qualifying relationships and targeted relationships.
Attributes & Background:
- College Degree in Marketing or Business preferred.
- Desire to work in a high-performing, fast-moving relationship building environment.
- Demonstrated interest in and ability to learn new services and technology.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to resolve client issues.
- Ability to work with individuals at the executive level regarding items of a sensitive nature (operational issues, compliance, contractual items, etc.)
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to meet campaign and other event-related deadlines.
- Demonstrate a high degree of integrity as it relates to relationship commitments.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
