Installation Technician II – Telecom / Data CenterOverview

This role focuses on installing, repairing, and maintaining telecommunications equipment in customer sites and data centers. It’s a hands-on, field-based technician role requiring strong fiber and network knowledge.

Core Responsibilities️ Installation & Repair

• Install telecom equipment in data centers and customer environments
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs to ensure uptime and performance
• Work independently while meeting company quality standards

Network Technologies

Hands-on exposure to:

• Ethernet
• DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing)
• SONET
• IP networking
• VoIP systems

⚡ Power & Grounding

• Work with AC/DC power systems
• Ensure proper grounding and safety compliance

Top Skills (Must-Have)

• Fiber Optics (critical)
  • Splicing
  • Connectorization
  • Cable handling & management
• Telecommunications experience
• Fiber optic cable installation and maintenance

Additional Key SkillsTechnical Interpretation

• Read and understand:
  • Design Layout Records (DLRs)
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Network topology maps

Safety & Compliance

• Knowledge of:
  • OSHA standards
  • Telecom safety protocols

Inventory Management

• Track tools, parts, and installation materials

Customer Interaction

• Professional communication with on-site clients

Ideal Candidate Profile

Someone who:

• Has strong fiber hands-on experience (splicing is a big differentiator)
• Understands telecom infrastructure end-to-end
• Can work independently in field environments
• Is detail-oriented with installation quality + compliance
• Has a solid safety mindset

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
