METAL FINISHING TECHNICIAN POSITION SUMMARY:
The Metal Finishing Technician will be responsible for the safe and efficient production of multiple chemical processes, to meet customer demands for quality and quantity. The successful candidate will safely and efficiently operate the equipment necessary as a Metal Finishing Technician. This position is responsible for performing quality control testing, product packaging and loading/unloading finished goods and raw material. This position requires you to work independently per work instructions.
METAL FINISHING TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
• Communicate with PP supervisor and team members regarding safety, production, quality, and operational issues
• Manufacture batches in accordance with all safety, quality, and efficiency standards by following written and verbal work instructions
• Follow procedures to safely and efficiently operate equipment related to the wet processing operations
• Use equipment and instrumentation to monitor pressure, temperature, and other conditions
• Perform quality control testing as required
• Comfortable mixing the hazardous chemicals used to operate each metal finishing tanks/lines
• Understand and demonstrate proper racking methods
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Maintain clean, safe and orderly work areas
• Complete required preventive maintenance
• Operates controls according to established procedures, adjusting as necessary to meet customer specifications.
• Have knowledge of and be able to perform shipping & receiving, raw material preparation, and product filtering jobs.
• Abide by all EH&S rules and requirements.
• Operate high pressure washer to clean the processed product.
• Follow batch instruction to prepare raw material needed for batches
• Accurately weigh materials, make solutions, etc.
• Performs jobs to support the daily production needs including fill and prepare drums/totes, drops and clean wastewater filter presses, becomes familiar and proficient in all plant production areas
• Meets production and quality standards as required.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

METAL FINISHING TECHNICIAN EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Job Title:
Metal Finishing Technician
• 3 – 5 years of experience in electro polishing and pickle passivation preferred.
METAL FINISHING TECHNICIAN OTHER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the level of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Must be able to electro-polish, pickle and passivate
• Understand the use and function of all equipment/processing tools to manufacture our products
• Read and comprehend CAD files, blueprints, data, manuals or other materials to determine specifications, inspections and testing procedures
• Familiarity with chemical production processes and/or manufacturing experience
• HazMat/DOT experience and certification
• Safely use Forklifts and other heavy machinery/Certification Required
• Knowledge of computers and office software
• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment
• Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations
• Read, write and speak English.
• Interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence
• Add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

METAL FINISHING TECHNICIAN PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping
• Required regularly to use hands to handle, feel and reach
• Must be able to squat, stand, stoop bend down, for long periods of time
• Required to occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and talk or hear
• Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50lbs and maximum of 100lbs
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
• Hearing ability to hear safety devises on forklifts, machines and fire alarms
