Cooling Test Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans, sets up, executes tests and analyzes and reports results and recommendations
• A typical day will include getting updates on machine availability from Machine Engineers, driving instrumentation set up and assisting with troubleshooting as required, running tests with or without machine operators.
• During planning and documentation stages, the day will include meetings with Design teams, most of which are teleconferences.
• The position works closely with a small team of Cooling Engineers and Machine Validation Engineers to review designs, develop test plans, prepare instrumentation, execute tests, analyze results, and communicate results/recommendations back to Product Design teams.
• Support the experienced Cooling Engineers by overseeing test set up and execution.
• Responsible to taking ownership of planning and delivering projects as capability is demonstrated.

Requirements

• 5-7 yrs with Bachelor's Degree in A BS degree in an Engineering curriculum that included Thermodynamics/Fluid Dynamics (Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.)

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Initiative
• Good communication skills
• Good understanding of Thermodynamic systems
• Knowledge with instrumentation like thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, etc. and how to apply them

SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:

• High initiative, good communication, strong teamwork
• Ability to perform physical work (climb large machines, turn wrenches, etc.)
• Effective and safe use of hand tools
