Quality Inspector

Location: Tempe, AZ Zip Code: 85282 Start Date: ASAP Job Type: Contract Keywords: #QualityInspectorJobs #AZjobs We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Quality Inspector (In-Process and Final) to support manufacturing and quality assurance activities for a leading battery system manufacturer for aerospace/defense platforms. The inspector will perform hands-on inspections of subassemblies (e.g., circuit boards), completed products (battery systems, batteries, chargers), and reworked parts to ensure compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role is key to maintaining product quality, documentation traceability, and supporting the closure of nonconformances. Responsibilities will include:

• Perform in-process and final inspections on electronic assemblies, circuit boards, mechanical components, batteries, and chargers to ensure compliance with FAA, AS9100, and internal standards.
• Inspect reworked/repaired products to support NCR closure and MRB activities.
• Verify build documentation, traveler accuracy, and inspection records for traceability.
• Maintain and update Detailed Inspection Plans (DIPs) and checklists by part number/configuration.
• Accurately document inspection results per QMS procedures.
• Identify and escalate nonconformities; collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Procurement for resolution.
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 as needed.
• Ensure all inspections meet FAA Part 21, AS9100D, and customer requirements.
• Use standard inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, multimeters, microscopes).
• Operate and validate automated visual inspection systems (e.g., Micro-Vu, Keyence); cross-check manually.
• Organize and maintain inspection records for audits and configuration control.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality function.
