Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, performs clerical work related to the processing and recording of accounts payable and payroll records.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with the processing of payroll, such as timecard entry, payroll vouchers, oversight of electronic time keeping portal, reporting for Board of Supervisor agendas and other payroll duties as assigned.
• Assists with the processing accounts payables, such as reviewing and processing invoices for payment, creating requisitions, ensuring proper account coding, preparing reports for payment.
• Assists with the processing of accounts receivables by processing receipts of funds for various departments and deposit to the treasurer.
• Assist with Credit Card reconciliation.
• Assist with Procurement & maintain vendor database.
• Assist with year-end reporting for 1099 vendors and reports it to the IRS.
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
• Audit account codes to assure compliance with policy and procedures.
• Collects and issues receipts for property tax payments;
• Accepts, verifies and issues receipts for county revenues; posts to general ledger accounts and checks balances;
• Processes county, school and county entity warrants;
• Receives incoming telephone calls and provides routine information, including but not limited to, tax and ledger account questions;

Knowledge, Skill & Ability:

• Intermediate to Advance use of Excel and Microsoft Word is required.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting
• Ability to maintain financial and personnel records and prepare reports and statements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively in a clear, concise and courteous manner
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with others.

Education & Experience

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED Certificate
• One (1) year experience in bookkeeping or payroll
