Payroll Operations Associate
Kforce has a client in Tempe, AZ that is seeking a highly motivated and client-focused Payroll Operations Associate to support small and medium-sized businesses with a cloud-based payroll solution powered by Gusto. This individual will play a pivotal role in client onboarding, activation, and ongoing account support-ensuring seamless payroll operations and tax compliance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding client experiences. Client Consultation & Solution Design:
- Advise business clients on integrated payroll solutions, including payroll processing, payments, and support tools
- Collaborate with business development, relationship management, and product teams to identify and recommend services tailored to client needs
- Lead the end-to-end onboarding process for new payroll clients, ensuring smooth implementation and platform activation
- Provide client training and education on payroll platform functionality, tax filing automation, and Gusto integration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll clients, resolving inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction
- Collect and analyze client feedback to advocate for service enhancements and drive continuous improvement
- Support product pilot programs and collaborate with marketing teams to nurture qualified leads
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell payroll-related products and payment services to enhance client value and retention
- Continuously evaluate and improve onboarding, activation, and support processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Engage with internal stakeholders to share feedback and contribute to the evolution of payroll services and client experience
- Bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of sales experience
- Experience in merchant services, payroll, or banking
- Strong tele-sales, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple clients/projects
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office/Excel
- Client-first mindset, analytical and problem-solving skills
- High integrity, professionalism, and risk management awareness
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- 5+ years of experience in payments, payroll, or related field
- Success in cross-functional collaboration
- Familiarity with digital onboarding tools and processes
- Bilingual abilities
- Experience with payroll platforms (e.g., Gusto, ADP, PayChex)
- Resourcefulness in addressing customer needs
