About the Role:

A Behavioral Health Coach (B.H.C.) provides direct support to the clients and the Clinical/Operations Team at the facility. A BHC is responsible for the general management and observation of the client milieu. The BHC works with young individuals to address challenging behaviors and promote positive change with a strengths-based approach. This role involves a collaborative process focusing on building healthy coping mechanisms and fostering a positive mindset.

Job Duties:

• Provide supervision and support (emotional and physical) to clients at the treatment center.
• Monitor and provide detailed documentation related to client behavior and actions.
• Provide coaching on practical life skills such as emotional regulation, social skills, organizational skills and problem solving.
• Offer clients guidance about recovery using practical recovery models.
• Help adolescents identify and manage challenging behaviors, promoting positive communication and building self-regulation skills.
• Assist with fostering resilience by helping adolescents bounce back from setbacks and develop a growth mindset.
• Assist with required client interactions (health and safety screens, hygiene bin distribution, med pass, vitals, etc).
• Provide coaching and support to assist the clients with navigating challenges and transitions, ensuring consistency in their support network.
• Identify and leverage the clients strengths to facilitate positive change.
• Maintain records of client activities, behavior, and information pertinent to each clients presence in treatment.
• Contact the House Supervisor immediately regarding any significant client event.
• Report any unusual client behavior or suspicious activity to the House Supervisor.
• Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere strictly to confidentiality requirements.
• Comply with all Horizon Recovery's policies and procedures.
• Adhere to established standards of hygiene and universal infection control procedures in handling all samples and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility according to infection prevention and control procedures.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Job Qualifications & Specifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 6 months prior work experience in behavioral coaching and/or behavioral health.
• Candidates should have at least 6 months of experience working with adolescents or be willing to complete our adolescent training courses provided.
• Valid Drivers License.
• 21 years if age or older.
• Be able to pass a criminal background check if required.
• Possess, or have the ability to obtain, a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Understanding of and adherence to Behavioral Health Best Practices and Horizon Recovery's Code of Ethics.
• Knowledge of relevant recovery-related literature and principles.
• Understanding and Competency of hand washing and hygiene.
• The ability to set priorities, maintain accurate medical records on each client in accordance with the master treatment plan goals and Horizon Recovery's policy and procedures.
• Experience with coaching on: anger management, self-regulation, social skills, coping skills, organizational skills, life skills development, emotional regulation and resilience building.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with clients and co-workers to expedite treatment for each client.
• Ability to accurately navigate electronic medical records to produce detailed, timely, and accurate documentation.
• Ability to provide specific documentation and reports to clinical staff when required and necessary.
• The employee must be prepared to work from any of our locations to meet business needs.
• Experience working directly with people in a service-oriented field is highly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time/On-Site

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

The ability to work for multiple locations throughout the northwest valley is required.
