About the Role:
Responsible for the activities of inspecting, testing, and reporting on materials, processes, products, and finished goods to ensure conformance with company and customer specifications and quality standards using variable measuring instruments and techniques. Assists in receiving and assembly of products and creating on occasion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documenting quality inspections, recording serial numbers and labels, etc.
- Engages in facility problem solving activities to reduce scrap, material reduction, increase capability, and productivity.
- Addresses daily quality concerns and questions. Offers recommendations as required.
- Troubleshoots manufacturing problems and quality issues. Works with Operations and Quality personnel to investigate, collect and analyze data to resolve and implement corrective action, where applicable.
- Work closely with operation teams to ensure process controls are in place and adequate to meet standard requirements.
- Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
- Ensure that any non-conforming product is properly identified, quarantined, and communicated and documented.
- Examines material or product for defects such as cracks, pits, wiring, and damaged components, etc.
- Verifies specified dimensions/aspect requirements of product and/or material.
- Performs other job-related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred)
- Quality inspections: 3 Years (Preferred)
- Experience or knowledge of quality control techniques such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, TQM, Etc.
- Experience or knowledge of measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
- Ability to foster a common vision which supports the business goals; perseverance necessary to focus on and achieve long-term objectives; capability to orchestrate continuous change.
- Ability to understand complex business issues and provide appropriate, effective, technical solutions.
- Ability to comprehend regulatory requirements and technical documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exemplary multi-tasking and organizational skills.
- Record of accomplishment of being a motivated self-starter.
- Knowledge of specific and general safety policies and procedures as relates to plant and position.
- Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform applicable test requirements using the following equipment: micrometer, caliper, dial indicator, and caliper, etc.
- Must be able to lift product, materials, and equipment as necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and write the English language.
- High School diploma/GED
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and resourceful.
- Ability to read and understand both electrical and mechanical drawings.
Physical Requirements:
- Duties are performed in a loud production setting subject to extreme temperatures. Some duties may be required to be performed outside. Comfortable with repetitive movement, kneeling, crouching, and stooping. Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds while bending, twisting and/or standing.
Work Environment:
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
