Custom Solutions Procurement Specialist
:
The Custom Solutions Procurement Specialist is responsible for procuring the best quality products and services at the most competitive prices, creating, and maintaining positive relationships with our global suppliers, attaining on-time deliveries and ensuring that the proper inventory levels are kept at all times.
You will be directly involved in:
- Purchased components the company uses to support sales
- Buy/resale products that are sold by our company
- Services for use by our company
Responsibilities
As the Procurement Specialist, you'll need to:
- Be responsible for supporting the revenue growth of the Custom Solutions product portfolio
- Work with Custom Solutions Director to determine demand for buy/resale products, manage supplier relationships, lead negotiations, track quality, price, and delivery metrics
- Modify processes and procedures for shipping, receiving, transport, and inventory control of Custom Solutions products
- Document and analyze all materials quality, received from our partners
- Review inventory accuracy and maximize inventory turns
- Ensure that inventory is available to meet performance goals
- Manage inventory levels using ERP system and excel spreadsheets
- Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments, and customers as needed
- Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
- Work with accounting to ensure payments are processed
- Keep contract files and use them as reference for the future
- Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded
- Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
- Give presentations about supplier performance and trends
- Develop a purchasing strategy
- Produce reports and statistics on spending and saving
- Evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
- Ensure suppliers are aware of our business objectives
- Improve lead times for repair of buy/resale products
- Review specialty product orders and ensure proper work orders are released as required
- Assist with processing rush orders
Qualifications
- Proven experience in purchasing and materials management
- Experience in customer service
- Experience in shipping and receiving
- Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
- Understanding of forecasting and budgeting
- Working knowledge of Syteline or other relational database
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Problem solver
- BS/BA and/or Certification in logistics, material management or relevant field

Work Experience
- Six to eight years' experience, including (3) years in Purchasing, three years in Materials Management with some international purchasing experience as well.
