Job Description

SUMMARY

Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student athletes. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants. Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses and at all times during the season. Exercise patience, tolerance and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, contest officials and spectators. Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom and as such, your actions, behavior and interactions with our student athletes should be reflective of this.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate OR Valid Arizona Substitute Certificate OR Valid Arizona Coaching Certificate (Sport Specific) AND
• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching

• Coach Level 1 (If using to qualify for varsity head coach position in lieu of teaching/coaching certificate) Which includes: NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, Protecting Students from Abuse, Sudden Cardiac Arrest

In addition to the above, all coaches (varsity head coach & assistant coaches) must have current certifications:

• Current CPR w/AED (Online certificates are not accepted; EMT certificate supersedes this requirement)
• Current First Aid Certificates (Online certificates are not accepted; EMT certificate supersedes this requirement)
• Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• ATC Student-Athlete Health & Wellness certificate (must review PowerPoint and sign a document affirming PowerPoint was reviewed)
• NFHS Concussion certificate nfhslearn.com

Act on Facts Suicide Prevention Training (True North Logic course # 15131)*

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS UPON HIRE

• Bloodborne pathogen training after hire by TUSD Risk Management Department
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles) or proof of MMR immunization

COMMENTS

Effective: 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

LOCATION: Rincon High School - 5th St & Swan Area

Season Dates: August 2026 into November 2026

Two (2) Positions Available - (1) Girls and (1) Boys

STIPEND to be prorated for days missed in the sports season due to late starts or early terminations.

This position is temporary and not eligible for district benefits.
