Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer (PE) to join our Phoenix office. This is an on-site engineering role responsible for the design, layout, and coordination of electrical systems across commercial, industrial, and multi-sector projects. The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of experience in electrical design, project leadership, and code compliance while mentoring junior staff and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering calculations, system layouts, and designs in compliance with NEC, NFPA, IBC, and applicable building codes.

• Independently manage assigned projects, exercising strong judgment and decision-making skills.

• Prepare and review construction documents, design budgets, and schedules .

• Lead and mentor designers and junior engineers; provide guidance, feedback, and quality assurance reviews.

• Collaborate with Project Engineers, Project Managers, and clients on scope, schedule, phasing, and deliverables.

• Estimate discipline man-hours and design requirements for project completion.

• Oversee coordination across disciplines (MEP, Fire Protection, Structural) to ensure design integration.

• Conduct final reviews of engineering drawings and lead QA/QC checks.

• Maintain strong client relationships through communication, presentations, and design education.

• Support business sectors including grocery, retail, power centers, industrial, multi-family, senior living, and restaurants .

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) .

• Minimum 8 years of electrical engineering/design experience .

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) .

• Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, and electrical modeling tools .

• Strong knowledge of electrical design codes and building systems.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.

• Demonstrated ability to mentor, motivate, and lead engineering teams .

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite .

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment .

• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

• Expertise in equipment selection, report preparation, and technical documentation .
