Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (State of AZ or eligible)
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings is a plus
- Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Organizational skills and a passion for supporting children with unique learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Assess students’ skills and learning requirements, adapting instructional methods as necessary
- Manage classroom behavior and promote a nurturing learning environment
- Communicate regularly with families and guardians regarding student progress and goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and ongoing professional learning
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines
