Position SummaryPhoenix Pumps is seeking a Technician Assistant to join our Service Center team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, have strong mechanical aptitude, and are interested in building a long-term career in the rotating equipment industry.
The Technician Assistant provides critical support to Pump Repair Technicians by maintaining shop organization, cleaning equipment and components, operating material handling equipment, and assisting with general shop operations. This position offers the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of pump repair while working alongside experienced technicians.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist Pump Repair Technicians with daily shop operations and repair support activities.
Clean pump components and parts using parts washers, cleaning equipment, and other approved methods.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Restock shop supplies, tools, and workstations as needed.
Assist with facility maintenance and minor shop repairs.
Safely move pumps, motors, and rotating equipment throughout the facility using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Load and unload customer equipment and shipments.
Help maintain shop equipment and ensure tools are properly organized and available.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
Support technicians, supervisors, and other departments as needed to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
Participate in hands-on training and skill development opportunities.
High school diploma or GED.
0–2 years of mechanical, warehouse, manufacturing, automotive, construction, or industrial experience preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to safely use basic hand tools.
Forklift certification required or the ability to obtain certification.
Valid driver's license.
Strong work ethic with dependable attendance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Technical school coursework in industrial maintenance, automotive technology, diesel technology, manufacturing, or a related field.
Military mechanical experience or vocational training.
Previous experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing facility, repair shop, or industrial environment.
Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment or rotating equipment.
Competitive hourly pay ($20.00–$25.00/hour based on experience).

This position serves as the first step in our Pump Repair Technician career path. Employees who demonstrate strong work ethic, initiative, mechanical ability, and a willingness to learn have the opportunity to advance through multiple Technician levels while gaining experience repairing increasingly complex rotating equipment.
Advancement is based on individual performance, technical development, and demonstrated proficiency—not simply time in the position.
Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
Ability to work with hand tools, cleaning equipment, and shop machinery.
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and work around industrial equipment.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Industrial pump repair and service center environment.
Moderate to high noise levels typical of repair facilities.
Regular use of forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment.
Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM.
Overtime may be required based on customer and business demands.
Work assignments may vary based on operational needs.
Successful completion of a background check.
Successful completion of a drug screening.
