Early Childhood-Assistant Teacher/Floater, Shepherd's Fold
Summary We're seeking a passionate, energetic, and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join our [Preschool/Toddler/Infant] team at Shepherd's Fold Child Care Center! You'll work closely with the Lead Teacher to create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive environment, supporting children's intellectual, social, and emotional growth through engaging, play-based learning experiences. Duties Assist in implementing daily lesson plans and age-appropriate activities.
Provide individualized attention, ensuring a supportive atmosphere for every child.
Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized classroom and playground.
Help with daily routines: meals, hygiene (handwashing, potty training), naps, and transitions.
Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Observe and document children's progress and behavior.
Communicate effectively with lead teachers, parents, and administrative staff.
- Follow all center policies, DCFS regulations, and Shepherd's Fold performance standard.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Food Handlers certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Fingerprint clearance prior to start of work.
- Associates or higher in Early Childhood Education (Preferred).
- Current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
- 1+ year experience in early childhood education (Preferred).
- Knowledge of child development principles and modern educational methods.
- Patience, creativity, flexibility, and a genuine love for children.

Shepherd's Fold is a faith based childcare center committed to serving the community and children. We are a non-profit run through the Sierra Evangelical Lutheran Church. We are enrolled with First Things First, Empower, CACFP, and DES.
