Description

Team Fishel, the Best Choice Employer in the Utility Construction and Network Installation business, is hiring CAD Drafters for our Professional Services Group in Phoenix, AZ to support ongoing Telecommunication projects. Under general supervision, this position creates underground and aerial construction drawings for utility installations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, base-mapping, fundamental knowledge of Outside Plant buried and aerial design including running line selection, manholes/handholes locations, conduit, innerduct, microduct and cable design for fiber optics along with make-ready engineering and poles

• Experience in Outside Plant utility designs, public right-of-way, private easements, researching existing utilities such as water, sewer, electric, gas

• Knowledgeable in city, county, state and local municipalities encroachment permits and specialty permits (e.g., UPRR, Caltrans, Forest Service, BLM), easement, right of way and various environmental permits are highly desired

• Must be able to interact with the local municipalities, Telco engineers and construction/maintenance forces to acquire OSP Records, existing utility information, ICGS, Assessor Maps, map info, AIS and Construction Prints, and to research recorded documents independently

• Site surveys, translating field notes to develop and update conduit/ cable engineering design drawings in AutoCAD

Experience Desired

• Experience reading blueprints, conduit prints and construction drawings

• 1+ year experience using AutoCAD

• Self-motivated with strong time management skills

• Ability to communicate effectively

Starting pay $22 - $25 / hour dependent upon demonstrated experience.
