Your day as a Speech TherapistAs a Speech Therapist at American Premier Home Health, you will engage in a variety of meaningful tasks each day. Your primary responsibility will be to assess and develop individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders in our senior clients. You will provide direct therapy sessions in their homes, utilizing evidence-based practices to ensure effective care. Daily documentation of patient progress is essential, along with regular communication with family members and caregivers to ensure a collaborative approach to treatment. You will participate in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and share insights with fellow healthcare professionals.

What you need to be successful- To thrive as a Speech Therapist at American Premier Home Health, a diverse skill set is essential. A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program is required, along with an active state licensure or certification (CCC-SLP preferred).
- Candidates should possess at least two years of experience in speech therapy, ideally with one year in a home health or similar setting, showcasing the ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
- Clinical expertise in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders is crucial, alongside proficiency in evidence-based therapy techniques and individualized care planning.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to engage patients and families effectively, simplifying complex concepts for better understanding.
- Time management is vital, ensuring a balanced approach to patient care, documentation, and collaboration.
- Successful candidates will exhibit a strong collaborative spirit, familiarity with Medicare regulations, and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, all while maintaining a patient-centered approach that enhances quality of life.
