Job Description :
We Are Seeking an experienced Database Administrator to provide advanced database administration, reporting, and data management support for a mission-critical Records Management System (RMS) environment. This role will focus on Microsoft SQL Server administration, database security, permissions management, query optimization, report development, and data governance. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL Server expertise, experience supporting enterprise reporting solutions, and the ability to collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure the delivery of accurate, secure, and high-performing data solutions.
Responsibilities:
· Administer and manage Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensuring performance, availability, security, and reliability.
· Configure and maintain database permissions, role-based access controls, and security settings to support business and reporting requirements.
· Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and other database objects.
· Design, build, deploy, and support SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports and reporting environments.
· Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency and scalability.
· Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, query bottlenecks, reporting errors, and data integrity concerns.
· Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting and data requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.
· Support database security initiatives and ensure compliance with established governance, security, and access control standards.
· Document database architecture, permissions structures, data workflows, report specifications, and operational procedures.
· Maintain database environments that support mission-critical operational and analytical reporting.
· Coordinate with vendors, IT teams, and business units to support system integrations and data management initiatives.
· Perform database maintenance activities, including backup validation, performance monitoring, and system health assessments.
· Support continuous improvement efforts focused on data quality, reporting efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
· Provide technical guidance and support for reporting, database access, and data-related troubleshooting activities..
Required Skills:
· Advanced experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise environments.
· Strong expertise with T-SQL development, query optimization, stored procedures, views, functions, and database performance tuning.
· Experience managing SQL Server security, permissions administration, and role-based access control.
· Proficiency with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), including report development, deployment, and administration.
· Strong understanding of database architecture, data modeling, and database administration best practices.
· Experience troubleshooting database performance issues, report execution problems, and data quality concerns.
· Knowledge of database security principles, governance frameworks, and access management controls.
· Experience supporting large, complex datasets and high-volume transactional environments.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and reporting requests with minimal supervision.
· Strong documentation skills for database configurations, processes, permissions, and reporting solutions.
· Experience supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making initiatives.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive or regulated data environments.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience supporting Records Management Systems (RMS) or similar public safety applications.
· Familiarity with CJIS compliance requirements and secure data handling practices.
· Experience working within law enforcement, public safety, government, or highly regulated environments.
· Knowledge of system integration processes and data exchange methodologies.
· Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical database environments.
· Familiarity with additional Microsoft data platform technologies and reporting tools.
