JOB SUMMARY: The Procurement Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating and purchasing materials, components, and services required for production and operations. This role ensures timely and supporting inventory and production schedules and inventory targets.
Responsibilities:
- Source and procure raw materials, components and services based on production requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Issue purchase orders and monitor order status to ensure on-time delivery.
- Document all material quality, received from our partners.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain approved vendor lists.
- Manage Inventory levels using the ERP system and Excel spreadsheets.
- Liaise Between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers as needed.
- Resolve issues related to delivery delays, quality discrepancies and invoices mismatches.
- Maintain accurate procurement records in ERP systems and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with production planning and inventory control to align procurement with demand forecasts.
- Work with accounting to ensure payments are processed.
- Identify cost saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Dynamic, consistent review of safety stock.
- Support new product introductions by sourcing materials and coordinating with engineering and quality teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2-5 years experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier management, and contract terms.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role is primarily office-based. The position requires extended periods of sitting, using a computer and phone.
