Systems Engineer (Tracking Systems)
Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has multiple long-term contract openings for Mid-level Systems Engineers with Tracking Systems experience for a DoD program. You will be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational system.Key responsibilities:- Collaborate with customers, mission partners, and other key stakeholders to translate requirements into robust system designs within a fast-moving timeline.- Decomposition of end-to-end system requirements into architecture, design, interfaces, and test cases
- Coordination with developers and integration and test teams to ensure component development meet system mission needs.We are seeking SE's who are able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance and work onsite at least 3-days per week in Scottsdale, AZ.We encourage you to apply if you have experience in any of the areas listed below:
- Ground system design or scheduling knowledge
- Tracking mission design knowledge
- Satellite communications knowledge
- Ground to Satellite communication knowledge
- System/Software design for cloud-based microservice architecture
Required Skills
- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement- Able to obtain a DoD Top Secret (active Secret or Top Secret is preferred)
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or related STEM field and 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
- Agile experience preferred.Technical Background:
- Systems Engineering: Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, design behavior with emphasis on:
- Software/Systems engineering: Experience decomposing the high-level space-ground systems design into ground software/systems design.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as, CAMEO or MagicDraw.
- Programming and Tools Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling.
- Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment.
Simulation and Modeling: Background in simulation and modeling analysis with tools like STK, particularly in aerospace applications a plus
- DevOps and Automation: Understanding of DevOps principles and practices. Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Security and Compliance: Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices. Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
