• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,620 - $1,660 per week

Medical Laboratory Technician Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or in a related healthcare field
• Associate's degree in Sciences or related field (relevant experience may substitute for degree)
• ASCP certification or equivalent nationally recognized Medical Laboratory Technology certification
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment: Ortho 7600, Ortho 5600, Ortho Vision, Sysmex 1000, Sysmex CA600, ID Now, Clinitek Advantus, MedTox, iStat, Bactec
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Laboratory Technician Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including blood group, type, and compatibility tests
• Conduct and review quality controls; troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Participate in instrument maintenance and proficiency testing
• Prepare solutions, stains, reagents, and supplies for laboratory tests
• Review reports and logs for accuracy and timely results
• Maintain proper environmental conditions for laboratory testing
• Stay current in medical laboratory technology through continuing education
• Prepare clear and accurate reports to support patient care
• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary puncture, following safety protocols
• Educate patients and families on specimen collection and aftercare
• Accurately label specimens for identification
• Participate in departmental orientation, training, and quality assurance
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in patient and staff interactions
• Perform additional laboratory duties as assigned
