Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Mesa, Arizona. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a dynamic environment, and has a strong background in accounting practices. Responsibilities: - Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded. - Utilize Blackbaud software to perform accounting tasks and streamline financial processes. - Process cash applications efficiently, ensuring timely posting and reconciliation. - Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Collaborate with team members to support month-end and year-end close activities. - Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. - Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders. - Ensure adherence to accounting standards and organizational policies in all financial procedures. - Provide support for audits and resolve any identified issues promptly. - Continuously seek opportunities to enhance accounting processes and systems. Requirements - Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit setting. - Proficiency in managing general ledger functions and related accounting processes. - Hands-on experience with Blackbaud software is strongly preferred. - Demonstrated expertise in cash applications and account reconciliations. - Advanced knowledge of Excel, including working with formulas and data analysis tools. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies. - Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members. - Commitment to maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in all financial tasks.
