About the Role

HB Capital is seeking a high-performing Debt and Equity Placement /Managing Director to originate, structure, and place commercial real estate debt and equity nationwide. The Debt and Equity Placement Managing Director will work with CRE sponsors, developers, operators, family offices, institutional borrowers, and emerging entrepreneurs.

What You’ll Do (Your Zone of Excellence)

As a Managing Director at HB Capital, you will lead debt and equity execution across the capital stack for sponsors nationwide. You will:

• Originate, structure, and place CRE debt & equity from $2M to $200M+
• Raise LP equity, JV equity, co-GP capital, and structured solutions
• Advise sponsors, developers, operators, and family offices with clarity and precision
• Navigate capital stacks - from preferred equity to senior to recap - as a seasoned strategist
• Leverage HB’s tech to underwrite, match lenders, and create deal rooms efficiently
• Present recommendations, negotiate terms, and lead transactions from mandate to close
• Cultivate long-term relationships with lenders, investors, and elite operators
• Collaborate directly with founder Hannah Hammond on strategy, systems, and growth

Requirements

You’re a high-performing professional who knows this business because you’ve lived it. 

• Bring 3–15+ years of CRE capital markets, debt brokerage, or equity placement experience
• Can talk term sheets, waterfalls, JV structures, and underwriting without blinking
• Have genuine relationship capital—not a spreadsheet, but a network
• Understand how to raise capital with integrity, strategy, and confidence
• Operate with a blend of EQ + IQ that builds trust quickly
• Thrive in entrepreneurial environments where speed and ownership matter
• Are as comfortable talking to institutional investors as emerging operators
• Believe in growth, accountability, and abundance—not ego and politics

Bonus points if you’re energized by innovation and see AI as leverage, not a threat.

Qualifications

- Required Bachelor’s degree (Finance/Real Estate/Economics preferred)

- Advanced Excel + PowerPoint

- ARGUS preferred

- A minimum of 3 years in an equity placement, capital, or debt brokerage role.
