Join us as a principal engineer and lead the way in architecting innovative solutions, optimizing workloads, and driving technical excellence across the industry. Defines software architecture for datacenter software and customer workloads, leads identification of workload optimization opportunities appropriate for compilers, tools, software libraries, middleware and frameworks. Also defines customer workload optimizations leveraging our platform software, industry software, and compilers and tools. This includes cloud, on-prem / enterprise, and HPC customers and workloads. Engages with major customers to understand use cases, application architecture, and critical performance metrics. Interacts with technologists and product/product managers across Intel to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development. As a principal engineer, recognized as a domain expert who influences and drives technical direction across Intel and industry. Develops and mentors other technical leaders, grows the community, acts as a change agent, and role models Intel values. Aligns organizational goals with technical vision, formulates technical strategy to deliver leadership solutions, and demonstrates a track record of relentless execution in bringing products and technologies to market. **Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: - BS in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent - 10 years experience developing or architecting workloads for cloud and data center - 5 years experience optimizing workloads for public cloud - 5 years experience directly working with customers - Demonstrated knowledge of compiler technologies, performance libraries, and workload profiling Preferred Qualifications: - PhD in Computer Engineering - Experience with Cloud, Enterprise, and HPC workloads - Experience building AI solutions and using AI for development - Experience building end-to-end solutions **Job Type:** Experienced Hire **Shift:** Shift 1 (United States of America) **Primary Location:** US, Oregon, Hillsboro **Additional Locations:** US, Arizona, Phoenix, US, California, Folsom, US, California, Santa Clara **Business group:** The Software and AI (SAI) Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services. The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of Intel's market segments.
