Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Parts & Supply Chain Manager to lead our parts department and drive end-to-end materials strategy within our manufacturing operation.

This role owns material availability, inventory accuracy, procurement performance, and vendor accountability to ensure production runs on time and without shortages. The ideal candidate has led a parts or materials function inside a manufacturing environment and understands how to align purchasing, ERP systems (QuickBooks / NetSuite), and production scheduling to support operational excellence.

This is not an administrative purchasing role — this is a leadership position with direct accountability for materials flow, supplier performance, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

Parts Department Leadership

• Lead and manage daily operations of the parts department (purchasing, receiving, stocking, distribution)
• Establish accountability for inventory accuracy and warehouse organization
• Implement and manage cycle counts and inventory audit processes
• Improve parts flow and internal material handling efficiency

Supply Chain & Materials Management

• Own materials planning aligned with production schedules
• Forecast demand and establish appropriate safety stock levels
• Prevent production downtime due to material shortages
• Monitor and improve inventory turns and carrying costs
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Establish vendor performance standards and scorecards
• Issue and track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
• Manage long-lead and high-risk components proactively
• Negotiate pricing and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Track PO cycle times and vendor on-time delivery metrics

ERP & Data Integrity

• Maintain accurate BOMs, job costing, and inventory data in QuickBooks / NetSuite
• Ensure ERP scheduling aligns with real-time production activity
• Drive data accuracy across purchasing, inventory, and production

Key Performance Metrics

• Inventory accuracy rate
• On-time manufacturing completion
• Vendor on-time delivery %
• Purchase order cycle time
• Inventory turns
• Production downtime due to shortages

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing supply chain, materials management, or parts department leadership
• Proven experience managing inventory and procurement within a production environment
• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP-driven purchasing and inventory control
• Experience reducing material shortages and improving vendor performance
• Hands-on leadership experience overseeing parts, warehouse, or purchasing teams
• Experience with QuickBooks and/or NetSuite (ERP experience required)
• Strong analytical and Excel skills
