About the Role:
The Direct Care Staff at Mahaney Child and Family Incorporated plays a crucial role in providing compassionate and individualized support to children and families in need. This position is centered around enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment. The Direct Care Staff will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans that address the unique needs of each client. By building trusting relationships, the staff will empower clients to achieve their personal goals and improve their overall well-being. Ultimately, this role is vital in ensuring that clients receive the highest standard of care and support in a respectful and dignified manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a direct care role or related field.
- Ability to pass background checks and obtain necessary certifications.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs.
- Knowledge of behavioral management techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to clients in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team.
- Monitor and document clients' progress, behaviors, and any changes in their physical or emotional well-being.
- Facilitate recreational and social activities to promote engagement and enhance clients' quality of life.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for building rapport with clients and their families. Organizational skills are necessary for managing multiple clients' needs and maintaining accurate documentation of their progress. Empathy and patience are critical in providing compassionate care and understanding the challenges faced by clients. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of behavioral management techniques, will enhance the staff's ability to effectively support clients in various situations. Overall, these skills contribute to creating a positive and supportive environment that fosters growth and independence for clients.
