Overview:

Under general supervision, the Recreation Assistant supports daily operations, programming, and customer service at the Morenci Community Center and Clifton Gym. This role contributes to delivering highquality recreation experiences for community members by assisting with front desk services, fitness room support, youth programs, special events, and facility readiness. Additionally, this position ensures programs and events are fulfilling the needs of the community.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide program, facility, and membership information at the front desk while maintaining a positive, friendly and professional presence for all members and guests.
• Answer phones and respond to inquiries in a courteous and timely manner
• Support point-of-sale processes and general front desk transactions
• Assist in planning, coordinating, promoting and delivering recreation programs for youth, teens, and adults.
• Help with event setup, teardown, equipment distribution, check-in, and logistics
• Provide on-site support to ensure programs and events run smoothly and safely
• Maintain awareness of safety standards and best practices.
• Maintain recreation equipment and supplies in good working condition & track and document equipment usage as assigned.
• Maintain accurate program records, attendance logs, and documentation
• Perform other duties as required

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong customer service, listening and problem-solving skills
• Experience in relationship building with families of all ages and abilities
• Ability to use computers and MS Office software including word processing and database software
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work effectively with people
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations and to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Ability to adjust schedule to meet company needs, may include occasional nights and weekends
• Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience in recreation, youth programs, customer service or facility operations

Experience assisting with events, fitness, sports or enrichment programs

Required Certifications:

Current CPR, AED, First Aid or ability to obtain within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
