Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks (3 weekend shifts in 4 week schedule)
• Holiday coverage based on unit rotation and coverage needs
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2 with high number of 1:1 assignments
• Float to other ICUs and telemetry units (4:1 ratio on tele), travelers float first before permanent staff
• May be required to float to Westgate campus when requested
• Must have Level I Trauma experience required
• ICU experience only, CVICU experience preferred
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation including SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Must maintain sterile field during procedures
• Strong IV skills required (no IV team available)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN preferred
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Dress code: Navy scrubs, natural hair color only, no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit testing
• 2-day floor specific orientation
• Care for cardiac surgery recovery, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, thoracic, ECMO patients
• Handle high acuity cases with bedside procedures including bronchs, Swan-Ganz catheters, epidurals
• Work with Cerner EMR system and Phillips telemetry
• 50 mile radius rule applies

This healthcare facility operates a 24-bed CTICU/CVICU unit providing high-acuity cardiac and thoracic intensive care services. The facility is a Level I Trauma center with intensivists available during days and on-call at night. The unit specializes in complex cardiac surgeries, lung transplants, ECMO support, and advanced cardiac procedures. The facility maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, with particular expertise in transplant patient care and advanced cardiac interventions.
