Commercial Lines Account Manager / Marketing
Salary: $80,000-90,000 (DOE) plus comprehensive benefits package
A. SUMMARY
The Commercial Lines Account Manager/Marketing professional supports the production of new business and the retention of existing accounts through exceptional service and proactive marketing efforts. This role requires extensive experience in marketing both new and renewal business to the insurance carriers represented by the agency , including preparing submissions, negotiating terms, and developing strong carrier relationships.
This position will also serve as the primary contact for engaging with carrier representatives, coordinating meetings, and facilitating communication between the agency and its carrier partners .
This is a full-time, in-office position , working Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
B. POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Lead the marketing of new and renewal business , preparing comprehensive submissions and securing competitive terms from appointed carriers.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with carrier representatives, including coordinating and attending scheduled meetings with carrier staff and internal team members.
- Gather renewal information and risk management data at least 60 days prior to renewal , ensuring timely delivery of renewals, binders, and related documents.
- Conduct periodic service calls and maintain regular communication with designated accounts.
- Support Producers by preparing renewal applications, analyzing client exposure updates, and assisting with account strategy.
- Determine placement for new or revised coverage requests; complete applications and endorsements promptly and collect premiums where applicable.
- Document all material conversations and coverage discussions with insureds and carriers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Demonstrated expertise in commercial insurance marketing , including negotiating with carriers and presenting client exposures effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, communicate professionally, and maintain strong carrier and client relationships.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment.
- Strong organizational skills, including accuracy, follow‑through, and a consistent focus on minimizing errors & omissions exposure.
- Willingness to travel locally for carrier or client meetings as required.
D. OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must hold all state-required insurance licenses for selling and discussing insurance in relevant jurisdictions.
- Proficiency with personal computers, agency management systems (preferably EPIC), Microsoft Word, Excel, and other applicable software programs.
E. WORKING CONDITIONS
This is an on‑site position in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking office environment , requiring daily in‑person collaboration with agency staff and carrier representatives. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
