About the Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who enjoys building patient relationships, practicing with a high level of autonomy, and working within a collaborative orthopedic specialty environment. You'll play a key role in evaluating, treating, and managing patients with a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, helping guide care plans from initial consultation through recovery.

Providers in this role work closely with fellowship-trained orthopedic foot and ankle specialists while also maintaining an independent clinic schedule. You'll evaluate new and established patients, coordinate treatment plans, provide patient education, perform in-office procedures, and serve as an important clinical resource for patients throughout their care journey.

The position also offers exposure to surgical care, including assisting physicians in the operating room and participating in perioperative patient management. Whether you're an experienced orthopedic APP or a motivated new graduate looking to develop a specialty skill set, this role provides strong mentorship and long-term growth potential.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • Work alongside fellowship-trained orthopedic foot and ankle specialists
  • Mix of independent clinic practice and surgical exposure
  • Built-in administrative time to support patient care and workflow management
  • Opportunity to develop expertise in a highly specialized orthopedic subspecialty
  • Monthly productivity bonus and additional stipend bonus opportunities
  • Open to training motivated new graduates with strong clinical aptitude

What We're Looking For
  • Strong interest in orthopedic and musculoskeletal medicine
  • Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians
  • Strong patient communication and education skills
  • Comfortable managing both acute and chronic orthopedic conditions
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage foot and ankle conditions in the outpatient setting
  • Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform physical examinations
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic studies as appropriate
  • Administer injections, medications, and other office-based treatments
  • Triage patient phone calls and address clinical concerns
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Assist physicians during surgical procedures and perioperative care
  • Participate in hospital rounds as needed
  • Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly within the EMR
  • Respond to urgent clinical situations and medical emergencies
  • Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals

  • Active or scheduled NCCPA certification
  • BA/BS required; MS preferred
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Current Arizona RN license
  • Current Arizona APRN license
  • National certification approved by Arizona APRN Board

Preferred Background
  • Orthopedic, sports medicine, podiatry, or musculoskeletal experience
  • Prior Foot & Ankle experience
  • Experience assisting in the operating room
  • Experience managing outpatient specialty clinic patients
  • Master's degree preferred

This Role Is Likely a Fit If You…
  • Enjoy both independent practice and physician collaboration
  • Want to develop expertise in orthopedic foot and ankle care
  • Appreciate a balance of clinic and procedural responsibilities
  • Thrive in a specialty-focused, patient-centered environment
  • Enjoy educating patients and guiding long-term treatment plans
  • Are seeking a position with strong mentorship and growth opportunities

This Role May Not Be a Fit If You…
  • Prefer a purely primary care practice setting
  • Have little interest in musculoskeletal medicine or orthopedics
  • Prefer minimal patient interaction and education responsibilities
  • Are uncomfortable participating in call coverage
  • Prefer a highly protocol-driven environment with limited autonomy
  • Are not interested in surgical or perioperative exposure

Why Join Us

You'll become part of a highly respected orthopedic organization recognized for delivering specialized musculoskeletal care across Arizona. Our providers work in a collaborative environment that values clinical excellence, professional development, and exceptional patient outcomes.

Whether you're an experienced APP looking to deepen your orthopedic expertise or a motivated new graduate eager to learn from leading specialists, this position offers the mentorship, autonomy, and growth opportunities needed to build a rewarding long-term career.
