At Building Kidz of Chandler, we know that the first year of life is unlike any other. Every smile, sound, and milestone matters and the adults in the room make all the difference. We're looking for a calm, attentive, and deeply caring Infant Teacher to provide the kind of consistent, nurturing care that gives babies the best possible start. If you have a special gift for connecting with the youngest learners and their families, we'd love to meet you.

What you'll do

  • Conduct focused observations and document each infant's developmental milestones
  • Carry out daily activities aligned with Building Kidz's infant curriculum and developmental goals
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and adjust to meet each child's individual needs
  • Ensure the safety, hygiene, and well-being of every infant at all times
  • Maintain continuous supervision and conduct regular safety checks
  • Communicate warmly and consistently with families at drop-off and pick-up
  • Keep the Director informed of any concerns regarding infant care or safety
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with Building Kidz and licensing requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card (or ability to obtain one)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
  • Food Handlers Card (or willingness to obtain before start date)
  • Completion of AZDHS new employee orientation/10-day training checklist upon hire

You might be a great fit if you have

  • 12 years of experience in infant care or a childcare/early education setting
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing presence with very young children
  • Practical knowledge of infant development and developmentally appropriate practice
  • Strong communication skills and comfort building trust with new parents
  • 24 ECE units, a CDA credential, or Early Childhood coursework, or are working toward one
  • Dependable attendance and a professional, team-first mindset

What we offer

  • Competitive pay
  • Professional development and advancement opportunities
  • A supportive, family-like team culture
  • The privilege of being there for some of the most important moments in a child's first year

Physical requirements

Infant care is a hands-on, physically active role. You'll be picking up, carrying, and comforting babies throughout the day, as well as sitting on the floor, bending, and moving quickly to respond to infants' needs. Must be able to lift to 40 lbs, work comfortably indoors and outdoors, and have the hearing and vision needed to monitor infant wellbeing at all times. Hours may occasionally vary to accommodate the needs of children and families.
