AutoCAD Drafter
The AutoCAD Drafter is responsible for preparing precise technical drawings, plans, and schematics using AutoCAD and related design software in support of engineering, architectural, and construction projects. This role collaborates closely with engineers, project managers, architects, and design teams to ensure drawings meet required specifications, regulatory standards, and organizational quality expectations. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical drafting proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple design deliverables within established timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD and related CAD tools.
Interpret engineering sketches, architectural plans, and technical specifications to produce accurate drafting documentation.
Ensure drawings comply with applicable industry standards, building codes, and company drafting guidelines.
Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project teams to resolve design discrepancies and incorporate revisions.
Prepare layouts, sections, elevations, and detailed drawings for construction, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.
Maintain organized drawing files, version control, and documentation records.
Perform quality checks to verify dimensional accuracy, scale, and completeness of drawings.
Support project timelines by delivering drafting outputs according to schedule.
Assist in developing drafting standards, templates, and best practices.
Participate in design reviews and technical meetings as required.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum of 2–5 years of professional drafting experience using AutoCAD.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required; 3D preferred).
Strong understanding of technical drawing standards, symbols, and dimensioning practices.
Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural documents.
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
Experience with Revit, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, or MicroStation.
Familiarity with construction documentation, permitting processes, or manufacturing drawings.
Knowledge of applicable U.S. building codes and industry standards.
Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
Compensation
Annual Salary Range: $55,000 – $75,000 USD, commensurate with experience, location, and qualifications.
Bonus Eligibility: Performance-based annual bonus may be available.
