Position Summary:

SDB is seeking a Payroll Specialist. This role is crucial to ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. This role maintains employee payroll records, audits payroll data, processes deductions and garnishments, and resolves payroll-related inquiries. The payroll specialist works closely with employees, accounting, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate compensation while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, garnishments, deductions, taxes, and third-party payments).
• Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
• Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
• Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with processing payroll.
• Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws.
• Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes.
• Familiarity with payroll software/HRIS and MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Spectrum accounting software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Construction experience.
• Knowledge of Certified Payroll reporting.
