Superintendent
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent for a direct hire opportunity in the Phoenix, AZ area. This role will oversee large multi-family renovation, capital improvement, affordable housing, and related construction projects, with occasional assignments involving smaller repair projects such as painting, carpentry, or other short-duration scopes. The Construction Superintendent will play a key leadership role in keeping projects safe, organized, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality standards. Key Responsibilities - Oversee daily field operations for multi-family renovation, capital improvement, affordable housing, and repair construction projects.- Assist with project schedules, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure materials and labor are aligned with project timelines.
- Monitor project quality, inspect work in progress, document deficiencies, and ensure subcontractor performance meets company standards.
- Maintain job site records, permits, daily logs, safety reports, delivery documentation, and other required project documentation.
- Support budget management by assisting with construction budgets, material ordering, scope review, and coordination with the Project Manager.
- Lead job site safety efforts, conduct weekly safety meetings, enforce PPE requirements, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions. Compensation and Benefits - Salary range: $90,000 to $100,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Oversee multi-family renovation, capital improvement, affordable housing, and repair construction projects from the field.- Manage job site scheduling, subcontractor coordination, materials, daily documentation, and quality control.
- Lead safety compliance, field staff direction, inspections, and client-facing job site communication.
- Partner with Project Managers to support budgets, scopes of work, project schedules, and successful project completion. - Proven experience in multi-family housing repair and renovation, or closely related renovation experience such as hotel or hospital projects.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant superintendent or construction field leadership experience preferred.
- Four-year degree in construction or a related field, or 5+ years of progressively responsible construction project management experience.
- Strong understanding of construction schedules, job site coordination, subcontractor management, and project documentation.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, including architectural, structural, MEP, and design documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and the public.
- Solid math skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
- Ability to train, mentor, and develop field staff while addressing performance issues promptly and professionally.
- Ability to perform physical job site duties, including frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, and occasional crawling.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.
- Comfortable working in outdoor construction environments with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with affordable housing renovations, occupied renovations, capital improvement projects, or large-scale repair programs.
- Experience managing short-duration repair projects with contract values up to approximately $500,000.
- Familiarity with safety checklists, daily reporting, inspection documentation, and subcontractor performance tracking.
- Strong client service mindset and ability to maintain positive relationships with owners, residents, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
