Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Summary:
Under both direct and indirect supervision, and in alignment with MBI/OUCH policies, procedures, and relevant regulations, performs a variety of routine clerical tasks based on established instructions and guidelines. Consistently prioritizes exceptional customer service by placing the needs of all customers, internal and external, at the forefront.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and visitors and direct them accordingly
- Obtains authorization as needed to process patients for services needed
- Admit patients into computer or manually in accordance with urgent care or company protocols
- Answers incoming telephone lines in accordance with company procedures and directs the caller accordingly
- Schedules appointments
- Checks in/out patients either in computer or manually according to procedure and distribute records according to protocol
- Files paperwork, medical records and correspondence according to defined procedures
- Dissemination of all paperwork to outside parties including non-injury (urgent care) paperwork, custody, and control forms
- Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information, collecting payments
- Maintains inventory of office supplies and printed forms
- Required to coordinate referral authorization with insurance companies and facilities
- Helps identify emergencies and patients in distress
- Comforts patients by anticipating patient anxieties and answering patient questions
- Maintain front office and lobby area
- Follows HIPPA guidelines and safety rules as outlines in training received
- Optimizes patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment rooms
- Attends center staff meetings
- Participates in ongoing training
- Perform Medical Assistant duties as needed following training.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Proficient in using personal computers, word processing software, and data entry systems
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Warm, positive, energetic, and professional demeanor
- Excellent telephone and in-person communication etiquette
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, coworkers, and external contacts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current CPR certification required.
