FACILITIES AND MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR

Salary : $78,472-$117,709

Sun Tran is seeking a skilled Director of Facilities and Maintenance to lead facility operations and maintenance services. This executive role sets strategic direction, develops policies, and ensures regulatory compliance across all transit facilities. The Director oversees a staff of 130 and a fleet of 329 vehicles across Sun Tran and Sun Van, managing Facilities, Maintenance, and Bus Stop Maintenance teams to support safety, operational excellence, and long-term asset management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, public administration, or related field preferred. Must have 5-7 years of progressively responsible facilities or maintenance management experience, including supervisory and leadership roles. Strong knowledge of compliance standards, labor relations and proven leadership skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Set strategic direction for facilities and maintenance operations; develop policies and procedures to ensure safe, compliant and efficient practices.

• Oversee all facilities and maintenance functions including budgeting, regulatory compliance and capital improvement planning.

• Provide leadership to Managers and department staff; establish performance expectations, lead hiring and development.

• Manage division budgets, approve expenditures and prepare capital and operating forecasts.

• Lead compliance with federal, state and local regulations including stormwater pollution prevention, hazardous materials handling and safety inspections.

• Serve as key liaison on labor relations matters, including addressing employee concerns, answering grievances and supporting a collaborative and respectful labor environment.

• Performs all other executive-level duties as assigned.
