Airline Sales Manager

Discover the World is a leading sales representation company working within the travel industry, managing a portfolio of more than 120 brands covering travel technology, air, cruise, hospitality, car rental, tourist boards and partnerships.

We are seeking a results-driven Airline Sales Professional to achieve sales targets and grow market share through strategic initiatives and consultative selling. You will analyze market trends, leverage data for informed decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver excellence. Responsibilities include managing client relationships to drive satisfaction and loyalty, optimizing productivity through effective planning, and utilizing CRM tools like Salesforce. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of airline sales or account management experience, a strong understanding of the U.S. travel market and NDC distribution, and a proven record in business development. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills are essential, along with a proactive, forward-thinking mindset and high ethical standards.

Reporting directly to our National Airline Sales Performance Leader and working in an energetic and fast-moving, data-driven sales environment, the ideal candidate will drive growth to ensure targets and expectations are achieved for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Drive performance and achieve sales targets. 
  • Implement sales strategies and actions to expand market share and increase revenue generation. 
  • Collaborate effectively with sales, marketing, analytics and support teams to achieve results and perform with excellence. 
  • Analyze data, market trends and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities and make informed business decisions. 
  • Work with Performance and Training Leaders to develop sales skills and knowledge required to excel in the role and align with our standard of sales and performance excellence. 
  • Optimize productivity through efficient time and resource management & planning 
  • Proactively seek and close new revenue opportunities through consultative sales, product education and the expert use of sales tools and technologies 
  • Professionally and successfully manage sales and client relationships to drive satisfaction and loyalty

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an airline sales or account management role 
  • Understanding of the USA travel market and airline sales environment, including NDC distribution. 
  • A proven record of success through business development and cultivating mutually beneficial client relationships 
  • Strong communication, accurate reporting and well-developed sales disciplines.
  • A working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM and OKR / KPI goal setting 
  • The ability to plan, execute and measure using data to achieve goals and targets 
  • Strong business acumen and experience with sales processes that optimize productivity 
  • Excellent consultative selling skills with the ability to inspire and motivate. 
  • Approachable and engaging with elevated communication and negotiation skills and the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships with clients.

Benefits

Annual Compensation

$80,000 - $95,000

The base pay range represents the low and high end of Discover the World’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.

This role is also eligible for comprehensive benefits: health care, paid days off, and retirement benefits.
